It's cold in the studio today, and I am having a hard time getting much accomplished. I have gotten myself into a very bad habit of watching reruns of tv shows on my computer while sewing. I just started watching The OC from episode one, and I have to say... I am hooked. (This is probably not a good thing!)
I have, however, cut lots of new bodies out, and stuffed a few pink and red ones for the upcoming Valentine's Day Shop Post. I'm working on finishing up some special orders this week, but I am hoping to have about ten new animals ready by Monday. They won't all be pink and red, just most of them. I figured, why not let myself get sucked into the spirit of this lovey-dovey holiday as an excuse to make these cute matching friends?

My next shop update will be Monday, February 11th at 2pm EST.
I also wanted to put another reminder out there about the Flickr group I created a couple months ago, "My Fern Animal". This is where proud owners of Fern Animals can post and share pictures of their little Fern friends. I love getting to see the animals I've created once they have found a new home. Plus, there have been quite a few animals that I have made in the past, particularly for craft fairs, that I never documented. Seeing those ones again... it's almost like being an estranged mother, reunited with her child. Well, maybe not quite like that, but I love it just the same. It's great to see how they have changed over the years, the materials, the shape and posture of the body (many of the first ones would often tumble foward onto their faces, because their heads were too big!), even my sewing has improved. So, please, if you haven't already, have fun taking pictures of your little Fern Animals and post them for me and others to see! If you have posted already, thank you! It's been so great seeing your photos!

(Note: the blue animal in the top photo and the two pictured above were made for a special order, and will not be available in the shop))
